Joel Barbour, founder and CEO
Joel’s experience in the industry stretches back to the early 1970s when he worked as a geophysical researcher. Joel added wireline and oil/gas project management experience to his resume during the 1980s. In 1985, Joel founded the first of the Barbour companies. Barbour’s earliest drilling work was in the water well industry. Joel brings an exceptional blend of technical expertise, experience, and business acumen to his enterprises. The Barbour companies have a proven history of successfully operating at the leading-edge, both with respect to market and technology.
Dennis Chapman, General Manager
Dennis has been with the Barbour Companies for over 20 years working his way up through the ranks. Dennis currently manages Barbour’s drilling operations. He is highly proficient in all aspects of well drilling and completion techniques, well design, and well rehabilitation. Dennis has been instrumental in ensuring efficiency on-site by coordinating Barbour’s equipment, crews and supplies. Dennis is fully industry certified, and holds a California drilling contractors license.
Crews:
Barbour crews are exceptionally efficient, knowledgeable, and safe. Individuals are carefully selected and continuously mentored. Retention rates are unusually high for the industry. All crews are industry certified, as required.
Barbour crews are supervised by tool pushers, each with an excess of ten years of experience in the oil/gas service and geothermal industries. They are each highly skilled in all aspects of well drilling and site management, equipment operations and maintenance, and crew supervision. They are instrumental in the safety and efficiency of company’s drilling program and are fully industry certified.
